Art and Food

Today, hubby and I headed into Boulder to check out the Art Fair and Farmer's Market.  Afterward, we met Haley for lunch at Twisted Pine Brewery.

Art Fair on the 29th Street Mall in Boulder.  There were some really neat paintings and sculptures, jewelry and yard art.  And pottery.

We bought a large pottery bowl from Club Mud. They are out of Utah. I love it!

There are flowers in large pots all along the mall.

Boulder Farmer's Market (Canyon Blvd and 13th).  This is an EVENT.  You can easily spend a couple of hours going through the entire market.  There are soooo many vendors, all local.  We bought some specialty balsamic vinegar (3 citrus flavored), Udi sour dough bread, mango chipotle almonds and salted caramels made with coconut milk. Can you say, YUMMY?!?!

 The bar.

Lunch!  Turkey BLT with avocado and chips.

Refreshing beverages (yes, this is my diet Pepsi).  Hubby, the beer connoisseur, said the American Amber beer was really good.

It was a good day.  Hot, but good.

Farmer's Market Dinner!

Today, hubby and I visited the local Farmer's Market.

We filled a bag full of fresh vegetables from Miller Farms, bought two pounds of fresh spicy chicken sausage from Pete's, some handmade tea, and fresh bread.

THIS is what we made for dinner with all our fresh veggies...a hobo dinner on the grill that included zucchini, yellow squash, onions, garlic, red pepper, baby red potatoes and spicy chicken sausages.

We sliced up the veggies, cut the sausage into 1" chunks, drizzled it all with olive oil, wrapped it up in tinfoil and tossed it on the grill for 20-25 minutes.

It was heaven.  Really.  Heaven.

Dinner and Bowling

The newlyweds, Eden and Luke, arrived in Colorado at the end of last week.  It's been fun spending time together before they head east to West Virginia where Luke will attend graduate school.  Today they left for Colorado Springs to visit friends.  Last night we grilled a delicious dinner and then hit the bowling alley.  It was a lot of fun!  It was the first cooler day since they arrived where it was comfortable to sit outside.

Eden and Luke.  Luke is still not quite sure what to do when I start shooting pictures, lol.  He's pretty funny.  I have to say, he has a quick smile most of the time. :)

Eden either flashes me her pearly whites, or makes a face.  My mom taught her 'cheese' at a very early age.

Haley.  She's used to me sticking my camera in her face.  Sometimes she cooperates, sometimes she doesn't.

We grilled shrimp, mushrooms, peppers, and onions; brats and hotdogs; made guacamole and potatoes.  It was delish.

Once we cleaned up after dinner we headed to Boondocks, a family fun center and went bowling.

That's it on the photos for now...until we get the official photos from the photographer!

I want to say a special thank you to Laurie, who was our wedding day coordinator and did all the floral arrangements, including the bouquets.  All her hard work made the day perfect!
